Sol y Vida Launches Nationwide Bilingual Telehealth Platform Built for Latino Communities

Launching ahead of Hispanic Heritage Month, Latino-founded health platform provides English- and Spanish-language access to clinician-led weight management, metabolic health and wellness care

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 14, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sol y Vida, a Latino-owned bilingual telehealth and wellness platform, today announced its launch, expanding access to personalized, clinician-led care with services available in both English and Spanish.

The launch comes as the nation prepares to recognize Hispanic Heritage Month, beginning September 15, celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities across the United States. For Sol y Vida, the timing reinforces its mission to expand access to healthcare experiences where Latino patients can feel understood and communicate comfortably.

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 68% of Hispanics and Latinos age 5 and older spoke a language other than English at home in 2024, while approximately 28% reported speaking English less than “very well.” HHS has identified language access as an important component of helping patients understand and navigate healthcare.

Metabolic health also remains an important issue. CDC data for 2021–2023 show that 11.8% of Hispanic U.S. adults had diagnosed diabetes, compared with 7.1% of non-Hispanic White adults, based on age-adjusted data.

“Millions of Latinos across the United States are navigating their health while also facing language and cultural barriers within the healthcare system,” said Edgar Estrada, Founder of Sol y Vida. “We created Sol y Vida to provide another option — one where patients can communicate comfortably, understand their care and have meaningful conversations with licensed healthcare professionals in the language they prefer.”

A Bilingual Approach to Personalized Care

Through Sol y Vida, patients can connect remotely with licensed healthcare professionals for individualized evaluation and ongoing care focused on weight management, metabolic health and wellness.

Care begins with a medical evaluation reviewing the patient’s health history, goals and other relevant information. Licensed healthcare professionals determine whether treatment is medically appropriate and develop individualized care plans. Prescription decisions are made solely by licensed healthcare professionals based on each patient’s circumstances.

Patients enrolled in eligible Sol y Vida care programs receive a 20-minute consultation with a licensed healthcare professional at no additional cost. Consultations, patient support and paperwork are available in English and Spanish.

“Our long-term vision goes beyond any single treatment or service,” Estrada said. “We want Sol y Vida to become a trusted healthcare resource for Latino families looking for accessible, personalized care and the ability to communicate about their health with confidence.”
